Interstate's GSA department maintains responsibility for establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with civilian, non-Department of Defense government agencies. The GSA team also ensures that Interstate remains in compliance with all government rules and regulations as we operate in the GSA arena. To meet this mission, a major portion of the department's responsibilities includes the maintenance of proper records for others to review.
Business development is the primary function of the department - as the GSA team seeks to identify new government agencies and target them for new business development. Additionally, the department oversees all existing business to ensure that the business we provide is of the same quality as the business we project in our sales meetings. As such, the department provides direct, daily oversight of each individual shipment and maintains contact with the many customers - including the agency network, transportation officers and the customers who are actually being relocated.
The GSA department does not focus simply on Household Goods shipments, whether domestic or international, however. Interstate's GSA staff will move anything under the government terms, including court documents for the Justice Department's Antitrust Division and stuffed anteaters for the Smithsonian Institution. Nor does the department concentrate its efforts solely on the federal government; Interstate also works with state and local jurisdictions.
